emotions
After years of such studies, Science of the Heart notes, "It became clear, that negative emotions lead to increased disorder in the heart’s rhythms and in the autonomic nervous system, thereby adversely affecting the rest of the body. ... Disharmony in the nervous system leads to inefficiency and increased stress on the heart and other organs while harmonious rhythms are more efficient and less stressful to the body’s systems."
Moreover, our ability to think clearly and reason often is impaired during heightened stress, so the decisions we make may be less effective and beneficial than when we are in a calmer, more coherent state.

REAL EMOTIONS and PERCEIVED EMOTIONS:
A good example of a real emotion vs. perceived emotions would be….say you ran into someone that you were interested in and they said they were going to call you later that evening but they didn't call. You would naturally feel disappointed. (Real Emotion) However, then we start thinking about it, all kinds of thoughts rush into our heads. "They are mad at me", "They don't like me anymore", "I must have said something that they didn't like before we parted", "They changed their mind about wanting anything to do with me", "What a jerk, I don't want them in my life." (Perceived Emotions) Insecurity, rejection, anxiety, uncertainty, self-doubt, anger, etc.
The person could have had an emergency or their phone battery could have gone out but even though we don't truly know what happened, we are all upset and might even loose sleep over it. See the point here?
Did you know that our body doesn't physically know the difference between a real emotion and a perceived emotion? It still affects us either positively or negatively.
